Hey guys, I'm Jacob, 17 years old from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
Feeling rather new to the Pink Floyd forum (and any forum site in general) as for most of my life on the internet has never been focused towards these type of sites. I had heard about the previous Pink Floyd forum from a good friend of mine (BluesyThug) few years back, and sadly never had the chance to really join when it shut down. So now I'm gonna give this a chance, and hopefully use this site pretty frequently.
I had heard about Pink Floyd as a 12 year old from my older sister, and most bands in general sort of run in the family. Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Bowie, Talking Heads, The Cure, and so on.
I tend to have a wide range and taste of interest in music, whilst it is also depending on the mood of a some music. Some of the styles and genres i tend to dig are the more Experimental, Psychedelic, and Indie sides of music. But to give specific genres: Post-Punk (even though it's got even wider ranges of styles), Dream Pop, Stoner Rock, and some Alternative Hip-Hop now and then.
Hoping to have some interesting discussions, and maybe make some new friends while i'm here.

I think you'll also be quite delighted that this forum isn't exclusively a Pink Floyd one, as evident in the title haha

I first joined APFFN without any knowledge of what would happen, and I ended up making some amazing friends. I hope you can have the same experience.

And now for something completely different I googled it, it's supposed to be spelled with a z, at least in Old Glory that's how they do it. Also, no. Have you? Lol

"Although British English speakers often use "realise", the Oxford dictionary uses the older form: "realize". Nope

Also while realise with an "z" is technically acceptable in other countries, it is only in North America where it is the predominant form. grammarist.com/spelling/realise-realize/

Isn't it interesting that in the land of the free, you have the least number of free people" & "In Holland, you can fuck a hooker while smoking weed, in front of a cop. How dare you challenge Holland for the land of the free". America's status as a free country perished long ago.

It's lowbrow but it's quirky and weird and kind of interesting. It's insanely flawed but I'm not sure I've ever seen a movie like it. And the scene you referenced is just gold. But I digress. What I was leading to was that one of my teachers put that entire speech on a students school report card.

At the very least it's better than *some* countries

There's are 100s of countries in the world that have freedom
