Like if you're in a position where you cannot maintain a relationship and all that, such as if you're famous and on the road, or if you're in the military and you're stationed to different places, then it wouldn't be so bad to hire a prostitute. Be an alpha male". For some people that's not really in their personality and would rather not fake themselves. Or you just suck at acting and you CAN'T even fake being confident. After possibly the forum's longest example of  posting ever, I think it's time to return to the music (or the misery). I watched this film again recently and it's still one of my favourites. Even though John Cusack's character is deeply flawed and makes a lot of mistakes, some that he owes up to the severity of, others that while aren't as severe he doesn't accept and comes off pathetic, I can't help but identify with him. His pessimism, his sense of humour in relation to his musical obsession, his frustration with the direction his life appears to be heading in during a crisis, all of them are things I can personally relate to. On top of that the brutally honest way the film tackles the messiness of relationships is perfect. Now where the hell is my top five dream jobs list? |
