Yeah I'll admit to be extremely torn on the Syd era (some of it is brilliant, some of it really feels like Syd needed to ease off on the drugs) but in general I like that period of Pink Floyd and hope to see one of these shows or at least a recording of it as you say. Cool stuff.

So I went to see the show in Stuttgart. Well, what can I say? A dream come true for any Floyd fan, I think!

I for one would love for Mason to come to Australia with his new band - and playing fresh, alternative material rather than the usual suspects that are wheeled out regularly by tribute bands as well as the other surviving members. I must ask.... did they play Scream Thy Last Scream at all? Haha

Nope, but they played Vegetable Man! And a few other tracks that weren't in the London setlist. Mostly it was a great overview over the so-called "Early Years" up to and including OBC.
About the only usual suspects were Astronomy Domine, See Emily Play and One of These Days. The latter being the only song in the recent setlists by David, Roger, Nick *and* The Australian Pink Floyd Show! Admittedly that makes it a bit overplayed, but it always works a charm. I was on the balcony near the back and a pretty girl with red hair I'd been looking at every now and then suddenly jumped out of her seat and started dancing madly when the final part kicked in. I recall witnessing something similar at the TAPFS. It's just one of those tracks that never fails to do its thing.
I also liked the lights, which gave off a nice psychedelic vibe while not coming across as too dated.
The support act was a nice singer-songwriter-lady named Emma Tricca who reminded me a bit of Joni Mitchell, by the way. Her finger-picking stuff sort of started sounding a bit samey after a while, though. But the audience was very friendly to her. And even the people at the venue were unusually relaxed and I needn't have worried about taking a little drink along with me, which usually is a recurring pain in the arse with live concerts.

That sounds pretty awesome actually. So I take it One Of These Days was the only one where Nick sang? And did you dance with the girl? Haha

Haha Nah, I was glued to my seat and my binoculars I don't think Nick "sang" on OOTD, it was probably the tape recording that PF had been using ever since 1971. He also joked about finally being allowed to play the gong himself on "Set the Controls" (but during the song it was played by the bass player as usual ---well except for the fact that the bass player was named Guy Pratt!!) and did some other nice announcements. Just a great overall package.

Guess what I voted into the SWR1 Hitparade and what's now on #400, currently playing? Hint: It starts with "One" and doesn't end with "Slip"
