So if you had to choose, which three John Hughes films would you consider to be your favourites?
In the above poll I included not only every film that he directed, but also prominent films that he had a major hand in with writing and producing.
For me, it's gotta be Vacation, Weird Science and Home Alone 2, all of which are among my personal favourite films in general. That said, Hughes did so many fantastic films, particularly in the 80s, so I should give honourable mentions to The Breakfast Club, European Vacation, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Christmas Vacation, and Planes, Trains And Automobiles.

I never watched any of these movies, so here's a picture detailing the symptoms of leukimeia

Vacation nearly made the cut, as did Home Alone but I've got to say my favourites are The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller, and Planes, Trains

You don't even know the damned plots, let alone the styles (which vary considerably) There's something called IMDB where I can read the plots. Granted if "Home Alone 2" had a very complex plot like Pulp Fiction I probably wouldn't be able to understand just by reading it, but Home Alone 2 has a very simplistic plotline and so do most of the movies on this list. The style generally remains the same. Tarantino has made westerns before, Japanese-esque movies before, and crime movies before. They're different. But they have a similar style of Tarantino don't they? You can tell it's a movie made by him.

Stylistically Vacation's totally different from The Breakfast Club, which is totally different from Ferris Bueller's Day Off, which is totally different from Planes, Trains And Automobiles, which is totally different from Home Alone.....

I don't think I could really relate to that.

I don't go to detention (although I did once because the teacher is a dick) 3. I am a teenager but aren't the teenagers in the movie all like 17?

The detention aspect of the movie has nothing to do with it as the emotional core of it and your other points mean nothing as their age and culture is irrelevant to the characters themselves. It's a great film
