Another Fred Durst Joke. I should have a counter. Also saying, they don't always have the most nicest personalities... Just putting this out there, do you think death/timing has to do with how iconic a musical idol is? Like, if Hendrix started making his music now, he probably wouldn't be as popular among teenagers right? And if Jim Morrison hadn't died when he was so young, do you think less people would've praised/remembered him? Fred Durst Counter (For BluesyThug): 2 Well I think Hendrix would've sparked a lot of interesting things as Miles Davis was interested in working with him. Which says a lot about his abilities really, especially since Hendrix wasn't really jazz oriented (as far as I know)

Would they still grab the interest of modern teenagers?

Who said anything about contemporary "great music being made today" Contemporary = Modern Modern = Today On the radio, the vast majority is garbage, a little bit less is mediocre, and two songs will come out every three or four years that are mildly interesting though nothing that special. However there's plenty of interesting, complex, raw music being made in the underground.

Yet if you look for music out there, there's plenty of legit stuff.

There's music I like that came out recently but most of them are done in a pretty old-ish style. I don't tend to like mainstream music, is what I meant. Like...PPAP?

Mate if this doesn't do it for you, i'm not sure what will: Vocally this is the definition of a Well Then Well it's definitely intentionally comedic but the music is outstanding. Really jazzy and experimental without losing the central rhythms of hip-hop structure. Granted I know you don't like hip-hop much but I think To Pimp A Butterfly is one of the best albums in recent memory. David Bowie even took a lot of the influences of that album on board for Blackstar.

Musically I could definatley feel jazz and it had a really strong opening, but I think the "well then" part started when the woman just started cursing. Took me a while to realize that was supposed to be the lyrics.

At the very least I was surprised it came out of Kendrick Lamar, someone I knew as only being able to compose rap songs.

Also that album title is awesome lol
